Early Evening Pick-Me-Ups
Our twist on a classic cocktail made famous by the Kentucky Derby, a horse race that takes place in Louisville, Kentucky. We like to use a peach jam in the place of sugar syrup, it makes a great partner to our Rum.
INGREDIENTS
- 60 ml Pure Golden Rum
- 2 bar spoons of good quality peach jam
- Dash of Angostura bitters
- 2 sprigs of mint
- Crushed ice
METHOD
- Add the Porthilly Rum, peach jam, bitters and one sprig of mint to a cocktail shaker, muddle and strain into the julep cup.
- Discard the lumps of peach jam and add the muddled mint to the cup.
- Top with crushed ice, stir and garnish with the remaining mint and a straw.
